ACL - Group F: Buriram United v FC Seoul previewBuriram: Buriram United coach Alexandre Gama has urged caution ahead of Tuesday’s AFC Champions League Group F opener against Korea Republic’s FC Seoul despite the Thai quadruple winners looking to make full use of home advantage at Buriram Stadium.
Buriram won all four trophies on offer in the 2015 season in Thailand as Gama’s side claimed the Premier League title, FA Cup, League Cup and season-opening Kor Royal Cup to earn a fifth consecutive AFC Champions League appearance.

And 2013 AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Buriram have made the ideal start to the new season after beating 2015 Thai Premier League runners-up Muangthong United 3-1 to retain the Kor Royal Cup on Saturday thanks to goals from Brazilian Diogo, Venezuelan Andres Tunez and Jakkaphan Kaewprom.

"We are well prepared for this big and first game of this tournament. We just hope for the best result. Anyway, we can't assume how the game is going to be,” said Buriram coach Gama, who took charge of Buriram midway through the 2014 domestic season.

"Even though Korea's tournament has not yet started, we are not going to open the game by attacking them, because from my personal experience, they are ready to fight. And before coming to Buriram, they had a lot of friendly and training matches.

"FC Seoul is a very strong team, but playing in our home stadium is our strength, so we are not going to keep our eyes on anyone specifically.”

The Group F opener also sees Buriram reunited with former defender Osmar Barba, who is now the FC Seoul captain after the Spanish defender left Thailand for the Korean capital at the end of 2013.

"For Osmar, I have heard about him. He won many championships with Buriram United and has had great success in Korea so we are not going to underestimate him,” added Gama.

“However, we also have good players such as Andres Tunez or the other players as well.”

Barba spent 18 months with Buriram from July 2012 and won the domestic quadruple in 2013 after also helping his side become the first Thai club in a decade to advance to the knockout stage of the AFC Champions League earlier that year.

“I am very excited to be back at Buriram and the expectation is that tomorrowwill be a good game,” said FC Seoul captain Barba.
